Evolution is inevitable. Over the last few years DBR has invested heavily in very high-end data acquisition and ICP combustion pressure analysis equipment. Coupled with the latest dynamometer technology, these incredible tools have enabled us to calibrate engines more accurately extracting the most out of every engine combination. Our mission is to constantly learn new information and evolve our products. DBR is proud to announce that we now offer an upgrade to the L1 Mercury 300 XS map: L1.3.

This is the first of our new 300 XS cowlings. This fiberglass alien cowl uses stock mounting hardware. Designed and manufactured by Mike Nass, this cowl cuts 10 lbs. of weight and provides the air your XS is wanting. We recommend 91 octane fuel and we also recommend to remap the ecu to provide for the added air intake. In fact if you are looking for more racing power this is your first step. This is bolt on power. You will need to vent the stock cowl or use an aftermarket cowl to enjoy our other bolt on XS performance racing parts. The stock cowl is a restricter plate. This part is a direct clone of the 300 X to fit the XS pans. The alien style cowling eliminates the water ingestion issue. (Adam McKeon's video)
DBR and NHR have collaborated on very much needed 300xs alien style cowling.
We all have seen Adam McKeon's video of the 300xs sucking water at speed. It is awesome to officially include Adam and to have him be the first to test on the water the new cowling that cures the problem his video made famous. This new cowling opens up the potential for engine upgrades as more CFM of air can be rammed into engine. Cowlings are available in carbon fiber or fiberglass. Uses stock mounting hardware. Installation is easy and removes at least 10 lb. of weight off the engine.
